Launching Your Campaign

To start your first email collection campaign, you’ll need to determine an incentive. While a financial one, such as an airdrop, can be effective and reason enough for many, we’ve found there are equally compelling reasons to sign up without them. To name a few…

  • Staying up to date on your project — without the need to constantly check Discord.

  • Helping you as a project founder/creator understand the effectiveness of current tooling/platforms.

Here’s a starting point for your communication to your holders on what you’re doing. Feel free to edit to what makes sense for your community!

“Hey everyone!

We are super excited to announce the launch of our latest product partnership with Holder!

Holder is a web3 CRM and marketing automation platform built for brands like ours. Our goal in using Holder is to expand our messaging and communication capabilities — as well as opening doors to new and exciting partnerships. While this new tooling is great for us, we want to highlight what this means for you. You’ll have more ways to stay up to date on our latest announcements, drops, content, and even partnerships. The hope is that no community member is left out.

Current holders and community members can sign up here: https://app.holder.xyz/connectwallet/yourcompanyslughere

When signing up, you will be connecting your wallet. Holder does not require any type of transaction or capture a signature when connecting.

*Insert/announce incentive here if you will be including one.*

If you have any questions, reach out to us for more info!”

Your wallet validation page can be updated to use any image, as you see here on ours. Let us know if you want yours changed by emailing us at [email protected]!

Filtering and List Creation

After you’ve launched your campaign, you should start to see some wallet connections on your contacts page after some time. To do this, simply:

  1. Navigate to the filtering button from the Contacts page.

  2. Select Email.

  3. Use the operator is not empty.

  4. Apply your filter.

You should now see a listing of every contact who has an email tied to their wallet.

💡If you don’t have very many connections yet, wait a bit for people to begin signing up, and if necessary — follow up with pings in your announcement platform.

To save your filter:

  1. Select all contacts using the checkbox in the contacts header.

  2. Select Create List in the top right bar.

  3. Choose either a Dynamic list or a Snapshot.

    • Saving as a Dynamic list will update your list as new contacts match the filter you previously applied.

    • Saving as a Snapshot will save the contacts as you see them into an unchanging list.

Both list options have their benefits. Dynamic lists will require less effort, allowing you to apply the filter one time.

However, the benefit of taking a snapshot will let you know who signed up during a certain duration when the campaign was launched. This could be interesting information to understand who your most eager holders are!

Messaging

Now that you’ve collected the data, it’s time to start messaging! Using Holder’s builder, you can create and send emails or wallet messages directly out of the platform to your holders. To do so:

  • Select all your contacts in your dynamic list or snapshot. Decide whether you want to send a wallet message directly to their crypto wallet or an email.

  • On the left navigation bar, select Messaging.

    • Alternatively, you may select actions in the top right by selecting New Message. Select either Wallet Message or Email Message from the drop-down menu.

Wrap Up

That’s it!

Once you’re happy with your wallet message or email, you may send it by selecting the Send button.

For your first message, here are some ideas to get creative with:

  • A personal thanks for signing up.

  • Invitation to an exclusive AMA.

  • Announcement of an airdrop.

  • Teaser on future partnership announcement.

If you’re happy with this playbook or have any suggestions, we’d love to hear your feedback. This helps us improve the Holder product, as well as motivates us to create better content.
